Seabridge provides multiple services to European coffee roasters to guarantee a higher quality of coffee beans and to improve the sustainability and efficiency of the logistics behind the process.

Warehouse

The Seabridge warehouse is dedicated and designed to store coffee in the best conditions. Coffee is a hygroscopic product, which means it can absorb and desorb water. When this happens, the structure of the green beans changes, resulting in microbiological and enzymatic reactions. 

At Seabridge, green coffee reaches its equilibrium when no absorption or desorption occurs. To meet these conditions, the temperature, relative humidity, air ventilation and filtration are continuously regulated and monitored in our 20.000 m² warehouse.  This way, we guarantee shelf life will be at its longest.

A team of experts in coffee handling takes care of your coffee logistics by means of a highly automated process. Our trained and experienced personnel handle all issues in case of quality issues. We offer value added services such as screening, drying and blending of coffee. According to our customers’ requirements, the coffee gets repackaged in boxes, bags, big bags or bulk. Each batch of products gets appointed a unique reference, connected to a track-and-trace system, which allows real-time stock visibility and instant traceability, from origin to destination.

Logistics

On top of that our warehouse is located in the heart of Europe, in a “clean port area” which consists of unspoiled land without chemical clusters. Our strategic location grants us excellent connections to a multitude of key European gateway cities.

A well experienced team offers you a wide range of shipping, transport, forwarding, customs and documentation services. We always strive for the best possible solutions for our customers, as we take numerous influential factors on the logistical process into account.

Just-in-Time deliveries, eco-efficiency, flexible packaging, time and fuel efficiency, waste management solutions and CO2 controlled supply chain management are principles we highly value and are of paramount importance for our partners as well.

Lab services

Our in-house quality team operates in a dedicated laboratory for physical, sensorial and microbiological analysis of coffee samples. Each delivered bag of beans gets automatically sampled during the unloading of the containers. The samples get labeled, analyzed and stored for a minimum of 14 months.

Within the scope of our coffee quality controls, we analyze the samples on both physical and sensorial characteristics. We recreate the temperature and humidity of the storage zones to ensure reliable results. 

The laboratory is not only used for daily control of samples but also offers a customized service towards our clients for quality training sessions by our Q graders, in partnership with the CQI. Seabridge became the first Belgian SCA Certified Premier Training Campus in 2018.
